This tour is NOT suitable for clients over the age of 70. The tour has been modified to allow for greater comfort by shortening some of the walks and add staff to the Inn's used on the tour to accomodate assistance with luggage handling. Accommodations on this tour are of a simple nature. Please see our South Africa Air & Land Package - Comfort option for a more comfortable option.

DAY 1: FLY TO LONDON
Fly from your home city to London. Free stopover in London available in one direction.
DAY 2: FLY LONDON TO JOHNNESBURG
Fly London to Johannesburg.
DAY 3: JOHANNESBURG
Arrive early morning. Day at leisure in Johannesburg to rest before starting tour.
DAY 4: JOHANNESBURG – BUSHVELD CAMP
We depart early from Johannesburg heading east through the spectacular Mpumalanga area, visiting several landmarks along the way. We overnight in the tented Bushveld Camp within the Balule Nature Reserve, bordering Kruger National Park. Overnight Tented Camp. (Breakfast, Dinner)
DAY 5: BUSHVELD CAMP
We walk for approximately 3 hours in search of game, stopping regularly to learn more about the ways of the bush. In the afternoon we conduct an open-vehicle game drive; which develops into an extensive night drive. Being in the bush at night provides us with the opportunity of viewing nocturnal animals. This evening we enjoy a hearty bush "braai" and again fall asleep to the sounds of the wild. Overnight Tented Camp. (Breakfast, Dinner)
DAY 6: HAZYVIEW
Today we have a leisurely start, traveling through the rural Bushbuck ridge area to the sleepy settlement of Hazyview. This afternoon we have time to relax at the bird hide, or enjoy swimming or forest walks. Overnight at Inn. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
DAY 7: KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
Leaving Hazyview early, we travel the short distance to the world-renowned Kruger National Park. We spend the entire day viewing animals from the high vantage point of our truck. Overnight at Restcamp. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
DAY 8 - 9: SWAZILAND/ZULULAND
We travel through the Kingdom of Swazi, enjoying the spectacular scenery, traditional homesteads and curio markets before entering Zululand. During our stay we will do a game walk on the reserve, enjoy a game drive in open vehicles and take in a Zulu cultural experience. Overnight at Restcamp. (2 Breakfasts, 2 Lunches, 2 Dinners)
DAY 10: DOLPHIN COAST
After breakfast we travel to the Dolphin Coast, one of the world’s finest coastlines. Explore the nearby lagoon, enjoy the beach and warm ocean and experience a traditional fish “braai”. Overnight at Guesthouse. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
DAY 11 - 12: DRAKENSBERG
After a visit to Durban, we travel back inland to the majestic Drakensberg mountain range. On reaching the foothills we transfer to a 4x4 vehicle and enjoy an exciting drive on mountain tracks to our cozy log cabins. We will spend time hiking and exploring the wonders of this National Heritage Site. Overnight at Cabins. (2 Breakfasts, 1 Lunch, 2 Dinners)
DAY 13: LADYBRAND
We cross the Oliviershoek Pass to view the turquoise waters of Sterkfontein Dam, then on through the Golden Gate National Park, well known for its towering sandstone cliffs and unique wildlife. Lunch in the artful little village of Clarens. Those that wish to experience white water rafting have the option here. Overnight on a Guestfarm. (Breakfast, Dinner)
DAY 14 - 15: KAROO
Exploring lesser-known roads, we head into the dry Karoo interior. We travel via quaint and remote farming villages to our stone cottages. We enjoy an extensive walk in the mountainous terrain, home to variety of interesting plants, animal and bird life. Overnight at the Guesthouse. (2 Breakfasts, 2 Lunches, 2 Dinners)
DAY 16 - 18: GARDEN ROUTE
We depart the early for the pioneer town of Graaff-Reinett where we visit museums and meet the locals.We cross the mighty Outeniqua Mountains enroute to the lush coastal Garden Route area. Our days will be spent exploring this renowned region and its attractions. We will walk in the forest in search of the elusive Knysna Lourie, travel the “Old Passes Road” to the Tsitsikama Coastal National Park, and walk part of the famed “Otter Trail”. We will also visit the area’s beaches and through the Heads in search of dolphins and whales. Overnight in Log Cabins. (3 Breakfasts, 2 Lunches, 2 Dinners)
DAY 19- 21: CAPE TOWN
Leaving Knysna we follow the ‘Whale Route’ around the Hottentots Holland Mountains. Arriving in Cape Town in the afternoon, we check into our inn on the Sea Point beachfront. We spend two days visiting Cape Point, Hout Bay, the Waterfront, secluded beaches and a wine farm. We will also hike up Table Mountain. Overnight at Hotel. (3 Breakfasts)
DAY 22: DEPART CAPE TOWN
Today you have the day at leisure until your transfer to the airport for your onward flight on British Airways. (Breakfast) This tour portion ends at on day 22, however clients are welcome to extend their stay by booking post-tour nights at our Inn.
DAY 23: FLY LONDON TO YOUR HOME CITY
You arrive at London Heathrow where you will make your connection to Canada. A free stop in London is available in one direction.
