Day 3 - Bwindi Forest or Rwanda
An early morning trek into the forest on the slopes of the volcanoes led by experienced trackers should bring you within sight of a family of Mountain Gorillas. You will get within metres of the family, and it is truly a privilege to spend time amongst them. Returning to the camp for a late lunch, we have an opportunity for forest walks with the guides, or just to relax. Note: The trekking may be fairly strenuous - up to six hours or longer is not uncommon - at relatively high altitude. Mountain Gorillas are wild animals and as such sightings cannot be guaranteed, however the success rate is well over 90%. Overnight at Buhoma Lodge (Uganda) or Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Rwanda). (BLD)
Day 4 - Bwindi Forest or Rwanda
Today you have the option of a second day of gorilla tracking (with pre-purchased permits only). Those persons not trekking will be able to go on a forest walk in Bwindi looking for birds and primates with a local knowledgeable guide, or go on a local community village walk. Overnight at Buhoma Lodge (Uganda) or Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Rwanda). (BLD)
Day 5 - Lake Mburo National Park
The drive takes you via Kabale into the Uganda Highlands - the Switzerland of Africa - with great views and vistas of this lush green area. From here we continue to Lake Mburo National Park. This small park offers a great variety of game including zebra, leopard, various antelope and hippo - as well as prolific birdlife. Here you may go on a walk with a local guide or on game drives. Overnight at Tented Camp. (BLD)
Day 6 - Ngamba Island
Return to Entebbe today via Kampala markets and transfer to Ngamba Island on Lake Victoria. Overnight at Ngamba Island Tented Camp. (BLD)
Day 7 - Ngamba Island - Entebbe
This morning we enjoy a walk in the forest with orphaned chimpanzees (cost of excursion extra) before returning to Entebbe where our tour ends with a transfer to the airport. (B)
